Insecurity enters Riley's head in the first trailer for "Inside Out 2".

Disney has released the first trailer for "Inside Out 2" (scheduled for release in June 2024), the highly anticipated sequel to the 2015 Academy Award-winning hit "Inside Out."

The original "Inside Out" was a coming-of-age story about 11-year-old Riley and featured five anthropomorphic emotions living in her brain: joy, sadness, disgust, fear, and anger. The trailer teases that a new emotion, anxiety, will join the group, and other emotions will move to headquarters.

According to director Kelsey Mann, who made his feature debut with "Inside Out 2," this new character promises to shake things up in Riley's head:

Anxiety may be new to the crew, but she is not the type to hold back much. Given what is going on in our minds, it makes a lot of sense.

Along with the new trailer, Disney and Pixar have released the first detailed synopsis for the sequel:

Disney and Pixar's "Inside Out 2" returns to the mind of Riley, who has just become a teenager! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust have been running successfully for a long time by all accounts, but when Anthy shows up, she doesn't know how to feel. And it seems she's not the only one.

The voice cast for Inside Out 2 includes newcomer Maya Hawk as Anxiety, along with Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Rapila as Disgust.

Disney also released a new poster for the film.
