"Under the bushes" is a quest that reflects the ephemerality of nature and life

Beneath the bushes is a captivating 3d indie short by Caleb Worcester.

Set in a quiet country diner, the story begins with a grim reaper and a ghost sharing a meal. The ghost seems to have been sent on a mysterious mission. As it drifts through the vibrant autumn forest, carrying a tote bag, ghosts encounter black cats and a short, meaningful bond forms between them. But their connection is short-lived, as the ghosts soon reach the amazing end of their journey.

The film's narrative appears to be deliberately open-ended, leaving viewers to ponder: is a ghost visiting his own grave - is it just dead - the ambiguity of the story only deepens its quiet, reflective tone, and, like life itself, perhaps, rather than rethinking it. It suggests that it is best to taste each moment.

Created entirely in Blender, under the bushes is a visually stunning and reflective exploration of nature and the ephemerality of life. The film is accompanied by a touching score by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, which heightens its emotional depth.

Worcester is a Kansas City-based illustrator and animator. His clients include the Washington Post, Veritasium and Blue Origin. "Under the Thicket" was produced independently and premiered at the Kansas City Underground Film Festival on May 9.
