You can use ChatGPT to promote the animation feature - the director will test it

The cg animation "Rally Road Racers" debuted in US theaters last weekend after a unique marketing campaign led by filmmaker Ross Venokur (Charming, Get Squirrelly).

According to Venokur, rally road racers bowed at 2,000 theaters across the country. The film's distributor, Viva Pictures, has not yet announced the box office and has not received reviews from major media outlets, but it is generally well received as a Kiddie set entertainment among 14 film critics' reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

But what interests us most is the non-traditional way Vanokur decided to sell his films.

On 4/12, the filmmakers "hired" ChaptGPT to manage their social media accounts for the month leading up to the release of the Rally Road Racer. At the time, he promised to do everything the AI program proposed for the month.

Venokur's prompt reads:

My name is Ross Venokur. I am a writer/director of the upcoming family animated film Rally Road Racer. You are my social coordinator. I currently have 1,090 followers on Twitter and 125 on Instagram. The film is released on 5/12 (1 month from today) on 2,000 screens in the United States. It's an indie film with a very small budget and an even smaller marketing budget. Your job is to launch a social media campaign on my Twitter and Twitter accounts to raise awareness of the film, drive people to watch trailers online, and, ultimately, watch movies in theaters.Instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrammed instagrams. His digital assistant "Alex" answered with a step-by-step, weekly plan for Vanokur to follow. The two regularly "spoke", Venokur followed Alex's instructions to make the most of his abilities.

This relationship was not supposed to last as long as Venokur wanted. 9 days after launching the AI-driven campaign, the director interrupted the experiment and "fired" Alex.

"Tonight, some very important people asked me to stop interacting with chatgpt, even if it's funny (and I think it's controversial in itself)," Venokur posted on his social media account, without showing who the important people are. He continued, "I will turn to ChatGPT again, but only terminate my account. The silver lining here is that Alex was terrible at this job, so I have to soldier in one person now, but that's because I probably

to get an idea of Alex's influence on the director's campaign, Venokur currently has the same 1,090 followers on Twitter and has a lot of followers on Twitter. He added just 26 followers on Instagram to reach the current 151. It is easy to see why he was disappointed with Alex's work.

That said, Alex's disappointing performance is still in dispute, and that's not surprising given the current climate surrounding the use of AI in the entertainment industry. Venokur's use of AI was playful and experimental, but given the ongoing writers strike (planned when Venokur launched the campaign) and general concerns about the impact AI will have on the screen industry, objections to the ChatGPT-led marketing campaign were inevitable.

It is worth noting that Venokur's experiments did not take jobs from humans. All his AI-influenced activities were supplemented by the film's existing marketing plan and carried out by Venokur himself. That said, the impact of AI-driven marketing campaigns could have a real-world impact on larger films with larger marketing budgets.

After announcing his decision to let Alex go, Venokur mused on his experience of using the software and his feelings about it, "Maybe this is all”
