"Super Mario Bros. Movie" debuts with historical figures in Japan and abroad, the largest illumination opening in history

There has been no such box office animation smash since Illumination released its last film in 2022. Chris Meredandri's animation studio has reaffirmed its pole position as the most audience-pleasing animation studio in the movie "Super Mario Bros.", which dominated the global box office for the first weekend and recorded an estimatedチ37,750 million in ticket sales. Critics may be mixed with their reaction to the film, but the audience is overwhelmingly enthusiastic. According to Posttrak data shared by Deadline, audiences gave 94% positive reviews, with 82% saying they would recommend it to others.

With a Rotten Tomatoes rating of more than 5,000, the film sits on an audience score of 96%. In Metacritic, after about 750 replies, it's a bit lower at 8.6. With such a reaction, Mario's long-term potential looks incredible and feels like there are more records to break over the new weeks.
