Jeron Braxton of "Glucose" to make feature debut with animated monster film "Slime".
Renowned animator Jeron Braxton will make his feature directorial debut with the animated monster film Slime. Braxton will team up with singer and Entergalactic creator Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi to produce and star in the film.
Braxton, an Indianapolis-based filmmaker/musician, is self-taught and usually works independently. Cartoon Brew has been a longtime fan of Braxton's work and has featured two of his films, "Glucose" and "The Plant Room," on our site.
At the opening of the Ouroboros art show in Beverly Hills in August, Braxton was interviewed by Nylon and explained:
I make art first and foremost for myself. You might hear me say that I think I am the greatest artist who ever lived or something like that, but that's because I feel that way. I make art that I want to see first and I'm happy that I feel like the world has come to accept my work.
More recently, Braxton spoke to Deadline about "Slime" and explained Animation has always been an opportunity to change perspectives on issues affecting Americans and, more explicitly, the black diaspora, and now, with the horror genre and cutting-edge technology, we can bring an insane evolution to this medium.
"Slime" is written and executive produced by Brian Ash, producer of "Boondocks" and writer of "Black Dynamite," a film that, according to Deadline, is "wickedly satirical, scary as hell, and trips AF into a fad that is a According to Deadline, the film is a "wickedly satirical, hellishly scary, trippy AF, classic monster movie in the skin of a sensitive video game.

In a not-too-distant but not-too-dystopian future, Muna, an optimistic but moneyless young woman, signs up for a paid medical trial. When hope turns to fear, she is unknowingly injected with a slime of an alien creature that causes her to hallucinate incomprehensibly and unleash destructive forces she cannot control.
Hunted and desperate, Muna kidnaps Glenn, the researcher from the mega-corporation that injected her. The two embark on a terrifying journey in search of shelter and a cure. But it is too late to stop her from evolving into a monster, a post-human savior, or anything in between--
