Trailer for Latin American Feature Film “The Dahlia and the Red Book” Released
Dalia and the Red Book (Dalia y el libro rojo), a mixed media feature film first introduced in 2017, has been completed and premiered at the Sitges Film Festival earlier this month.
Written and directed by Argentine filmmaker David Bisbano (“A Mouse Tale”), “Dalia” tells the story of a young girl who gets caught up in her late father's unfinished novel and must complete the book while facing the characters of the book who are trying to hijack the plot and become the central characters The story is about a girl who must complete her book while meeting the characters of the book who are trying to hijack the plot and become central characters. Described by the producers as “The Neverending Story meets Corpse Bride meets ParaNorman,” the film is a mix of stop-motion, computer graphics, and hand-drawn animation techniques.

“The Dahlia and the Red Book” was produced by Vista Sur Films, Mi Perro Producciones, and Filmsharks in Argentina and produced by Golem Studio (Peru), Cine 2 ( (Brazil), Doce (Spain), Mr. Miyagi (Spain), Matte CG (Ecuador), and Signos Studio (Colombia).
“Dalia” opened in Argentina last week and is scheduled to open in Spain this weekend, Peru on October 31, and Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and the Caribbean on November 7. Disney's Star Distribution plans a theatrical release in Brazil and other latam territories in December, with Disney+ regional distribution to follow.
Producers have confirmed that other territories have already been sold, including Germany, Russia, Taiwan, Singapore, Portugal Discussions are underway for other key regions including Mexico, France, the UK, the US, Korea, and China.
