GKIDS to release “Rebuild of Evangelion: DEBRAH” in the U.S. for the first time in March.

Distributor GKIDS has announced that it will host two nights of special screenings of the 1997 classic feature-length anime “Evangelion: The Rebuild of Evangelion: Destroyed” on March 17 and 20.

“Rebuild of Evangelion” is a remake of the last two episodes of the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” TV series with a different ending.

The synopsis of GKIDS states:

Seal plans an attack on NERV after failing to create an artificial Third Impact. In desperation, Asuka, reassured of her and her mother's existence, returns and begins to fight back. However, a new enemy descends from the heavens. Meanwhile, while piloting EVA-01, Shinji witnesses the devastation of Asuka's EVA-02. The mass-produced models surround EVA-01 and perform a solemn ceremony. Neon Genesis Evangelion” was written by Hideaki Anno and animated by Tokyo-based Studio Tatsunoko. It aired on TV Tokyo from October 1995 to March 1996 and is widely considered one of the most important anime series of all time.

In 2022, GKIDS released the original 26-episode series and two corresponding films, “Evangelion: The Last Airbender” and “Evangelion: The Last Airbender”: GKIDS also released the final film in the “Evangelion” series, “Evangelion: Introduction”: 3.0+1 .11 Thrice Upon A Time”.
