Ottawa International Animated Film Festival 2024 Lineup Announced - Full List

The Ottawa International Animation Festival, the largest animation festival in North America, has announced its lineup for 2024, the third oldest animation festival in the world after Annecy and Zagreb, founded in 1976.

Known for its bold program and filmmaker-friendly atmosphere, the festival selected a total of 124 projects in all categories, including shorts, features, and series, out of 2,308 films from 93 countries.

"Given the state of the world, it is not surprising that many of the short films selected for competition consider the present, the future, and what it means for our society," said Chris Robinson, OIAF Artistic Director, in a statement. . But the films also were chosen for their lighthearted, comedic touches, including a male bald head, a conflicted Woody and Buzz, and a basketball dog having an existential crisis." Animation continues to be a force for personal and poetic expression, not just in the realm of children and fluffy entertainment"

.

This year's jury for the short film category consisted of Jonathan Dijov Nkond (France/UK), Anastasija Verlinska (Ukraine), and Ivana Volda (Croatia), and for the feature film category, Neil Hunter (Canada), Dahi Chung (Korea), Tomas Volda (Croatia).

OIAF2024 will be held in Ottawa, Canada, from September 25 to 29. For more information on how to participate, see animationfestival.ca.
