Production staff of bento box entertainment represented by Anime Guild

The Animation Guild (TAG), IATSE Local839, has confirmed that a group of production workers for Bento Box Entertainment, owned by Fox Corporation, is officially represented by the organization.

A negotiating unit of 100 workers was voluntarily recognized with a pending card count known as a card check recognition contract. Then an independent arbitrator recognized the majority position at 9.30 am. The new unit includes workers from 28 different positions with lunch boxes; These positions include Production Coordinator, Audio Coordinator, Development and Design Supervisor, Digital Supervisor, and Writer Assistant.

The news was first announced in a tweet from the tag account.

More great News to share! The production staff @BentoBoxEnt is officially represented by #AnimationGuild. Let's show them a great welcome to #Union! congratulations!

It was a big year for the employees of Bento Box Entertainment. On May 5, pre-production and post-production editorial workers formed a union with the Editors Guild. Artists and writers in the studio were already covered with tags.

The effort to organize lunch box workers is also representative of the larger unionization movement across the industry, particularly with regard to production workers. Workers from a number of studios across the country have voted in favor of unionizing with the tag, including the Simpsons, Family Guy, American Daddy, Solar Opinion, Titmouse LA and, most recently, Stephen Colbert, who has published the news.
