The Tiny Chef Show" Stop Motion Studio Factory Transmedia Declares Bankruptcy

Factory Transmedia, a British independent animation studio that animated the first season of Nick Jr.'s "The Tiny Chef Show," has gone into private liquidation by its creditors and will be shut down. UK, meaning that it was insolvent and no longer had the funds to pay its debts.

The UK Altrincham company cited "difficult market conditions" as the reason for the closure:

Over the past 12 months, the global economy and audience behavior have changed markedly, leading to a significant reduction in the number of projects planned by broadcasters worldwide.

The 24-year-old studio has recently entered the American scene with its excellent work on The Tiny Chef Show. The company was even more established in the UK, where it produced the much-discussed reboot of "The Clangers" and numerous other series, including "Scream Street," "Newzoids," and "Strange Hill High."

The company is considered an animation success story in the Greater Manchester area and opened a new studio facility in 2017 to accommodate its growing production numbers. At the peak of production, the company employed more than 100 people, and clients included Disney, Nick Jr.

Mazars, an international audit, tax, and advisory firm, was appointed in early April to liquidate the company's assets and auction off everything it owns, including the stop-motion puppets used in the production.
