'Veggie Tales' superhero Rally Boy to make first theatrical appearance in 2026

Faith-based content has been a huge box office success, and the production company behind the classic animated IP Veggie Tales is bringing a new film about one of its most popular characters, LarryBoy, to movie theaters.

The untitled film is slated for release in 2026 and will mark the first time LarryBoy has been made into a movie. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film will be produced by Big Idea Content Group and Kingston Studios, producers of the original VeggieTales films, under the NBCUniversal umbrella.

No director has been announced, but producer Dan Merrell (MKM Development) is leading the development. In the release he explains:

I have loved Larry Boy for decades and am honored to be partnering with Big Idea and Kingston Studios on the new film. I believe that both existing fanbases and new audiences are eagerly awaiting a new Veggie Tales feature film that not only pays homage to past classics, but also promises thrilling new surprises.
