Viva Kids Acquires Stake in 3 Doubles, Producer of "Inspector Sun"

LA-based Viva Kids has acquired a minority stake in Canary Islands-based animation studio 3 Dobles Producciones.

Under the terms of the deal, Viva has an option to acquire a majority stake in 3 Dobles after two years.

The two companies have a strong working relationship, and Viva will release 3 Doubles' latest film, Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow, in the United States on October 13. Inspector Sun is a family-friendly adaptation of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, which was just screened out of competition at this year's Annecy Film Festival.
